September 10-11, 2011. Airshow gates open at 9 a.m. and close at 5 p.m. each day of the two-day show.
Mather Airport will close to air traffic at 7 a.m. on the Friday preceding the show and remain closed until Sunday evening.
Due to allocation of ramp space to Airshow performers, static displays and guest parking, Mather Airport is unable to accommodate transient aircraft. It is recommended for pilots to fly into McClellan Airport or Sacramento Executive Airport. There are a variety of private transportation options available; check with the FBO. Lions Gate Hotel at McClellan has a fly-in package for overnight guests, which includes tickets and transportation to the Airshow.
A list of performers is listed on the performer page. Unfortunately, the schedule is not solidified until the morning of the Airshow to allow for security, safety, weather and operational concerns.
The Airshow will not be televised and unauthorized broadcast of the show is prohibited. To see all aspects of the Airshow, you need to attend.
Yes, cameras and video recorders are allowed.
It takes more than a few drops of rain to stop the California Capital Airshow! The Airshow will take place – rain or shine both Saturday and Sunday. Airshow performers have high, low and flat routines to adapt to varying weather conditions. Schedules may be altered or delayed for periods of time if heavy rainfall occurs. All display aircraft, concessions and exhibits will be open regardless of weather.
No, Active Duty Military do not have to pay to get into the Airshow. In order to get in for free you must present your Military ID Card at the gate. Please note the offer is currently available for Active Duty Military personnel only, but we hope to be able to extend it to dependents in the future.
Children 5 years old and under are free and do not need a ticket to enter. Children six years old and up must have a ticket to enter. Please check our tickets page for additional information and current ticket prices.
The Airshow accepts cash and credit card for Airshow admission tickets. Only cash will be accepted for parking.
No, bleacher seating is not available.
Yes, packages are available for purchase please see ticket page for current pricing and availability.
Seating is not included with general admission tickets so please feel free to bring a blanket or lawn chair to sit on.
Due to security concerns, coolers and large bags are not permitted on the show site. Small coolers for the purpose of carrying doctor prescribed, life-preserving medications are permitted. All personal handbags, totes, diaper bags, etc. are subject to search at the entry gates.
For the safety of attendees and the animals, pets are not allowed on show grounds. Certified service animals are permitted.
Please retain your ticket stub and acquire a hand stamp before exiting show grounds to ensure your ability to return.
Shaded areas are available in Flight Line Club and the Governor’s Club. For General Admission, limited shade may be found under the wings of static display aircraft but is limited. Guests are encouraged to bring sunscreen, hats, sunglasses and portable, hand-held umbrellas for their comfort.
Due to security and safety concerns, tents, beach umbrellas, awnings and the like are not permitted on show grounds. Personal, hand-held umbrellas are permitted.
2011 California Capital Airshow tickets are not valid as a form of payment for Regional Transit.

The Airshow will have a large variety of food available for purchase, including local barbecue, local cuisines, fried food specialties, dessert specialties, signature salads, boxed lunches, reception stations, and other concession services, all representative of the spirit and flavor of Sacramento.
Yes, medical personnel will be on site and a first aid center will be open.
Portable chairs, strollers, cameras, sunscreen, ear plugs, blankets and handheld umbrellas are items air show veterans tend to pack.
The following items are prohibited from the Airshow grounds: coolers, loose ice, cans, glass, alcohol, pets, weapons of any kind, tents, awnings, cooking/barbecue equipment.
