THE AIRSHOW

Q: When is the airshow?

A: Airshow gates open at 10 a.m. and close around 4 p.m. each day of the two-day show.

Q: What time does the airport close to non-airshow air traffic?

A: Mather Airport will close to air traffic at 7 a.m. on the Friday preceding the shoe and remain closed until Sunday evening.

Q: May I fly into the airshow?

A: Due to allocation of ramp space to airshow performers, static displays and guest parking, Mather Airport is unable to accommodate transient aircraft. It is recommended for pilots to fly into Executive Airport and utilize Regional Transit to arrive on the airshow grounds.

Q: What is the performer schedule?

A: A list of performers is listed on the Performer page. Unfortunately, the schedule is not solidified until to morning of the airshow to allow for security, safety, weather or operational concerns.

Q: Will the airshow be televised?

A: The airshow will not be televised and unauthorized broadcast of the show is prohibited. To see all aspects of the airshow, you need to attend.

Q: Are cameras and video recorders allowed?

A: Yes.

Q: What happens if it rains?

A: It takes more than a few drops of rain to stop an airshow! The airshow will take place - rain or shine both Saturday and Sunday. Airshow performers have high, low and flat routines to adapt to varying weather conditions. Schedules may be altered or delayed for periods of time if heavy rainfall occurs. All display aircraft, concessions and exhibits will be open regardless of weather.


TICKETS AND ENTRY

Q: Is parking free?

A: Parking is not free. The fee for each vehicle is $10 and does not include exit and re-entry. FREE transportation on Regional Transit to the show grounds is included with all advance tickets as way to avoid the cost and potential traffic congestion associated with parking.

Q: Do I need to buy my children tickets?

A: Children 12 and under are admitted free of charge with a paid adult.

Q: Does the airshow accept credit cards or checks at the gate?

A: The airshow is only able to accept cash for payment.

Q: Is bleacher seating available?

A: Bleacher seating is not available.

Q: Are VIP tickets available?

A: The Governor's Club packages are available to supporters of the airshow in addition to Sponsor packages.

Q: May I bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on?

A: Seating is not included with general admission tickets so please feel free to bring a blanket or lawn chair to sit on.

Q: Are coolers and/or backpacks permitted?

A: Due to security concern, coolers and large bags are not permitted on the show site. Small coolers for the purpose of carrying Prescribed, life-preserving medications are permitted. All personal handbags, totes, diaper bags, etc. are subject to search at the entry gates.

Q: Are pets allowed?

A: For the safety of attendees and the animals, pets are not allowed on show grounds. Certified service animals are permitted.

Q: May I leave and re-enter the airshow during the day?

A: Please retain your ticket stub and acquire a hand stamp before exiting show grounds to ensure your ability to return.

Q: Are shaded areas available?

A: Airshows are held under open skies for the best view. Limited shade may be found under the wings of static display aircraft but is limited. Guests are encouraged to bring sunscreen, hats, sunglasses and portable, hand-held umbrellas for their comfort.

Q: May I bring a tent, beach umbrella or awning?

A: Due to security and safety concerns, tents, beach umbrellas, awnings and the like are not permitted on show grounds. Personal, hand-held umbrellas are permitted.


MISCELLANEOUS

Q: Are vegetarian or vegan foods available?

A: The master concessionaire makes every effort to ensure menu items are suitable for all guests.

Q: What food is commonly found at an airshow?

A: A variety of foods including barbecue, hot dogs, hamburgers, rice bowls and more are normally found at an airshow.

Q: Are first aid facilities on-site?

A: Yes, medical personnel will be on site and a first aid center will be open.

Q: What are recommended items to bring to the airshow?

A: Portable chairs, strollers, cameras, sunscreen, ear plugs, blankets and handheld umbrellas are items air show veterans tend to pack.

Q: What items are prohibited from being brought into the airshow?

A: The following items are prohibited from the airshow grounds: coolers, loose ice, cans, glass, alcohol, pets, weapons of any kind, tents, awnings, cooking/barbecue equipment.
